Independent National Electoral Commission to display preliminary Voters Register across Bauchi State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to display the Preliminary Register of Voters across Bauchi state following the completion of the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.

The Commission in a statement by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity Aliyu Hassan Shaaba on behalf of the Bauchi Resident Electoral Commissioner, said the register will be displayed in all 20 Local Government Area offices from Wednesday, April 29 to Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

According to INEC, the exercise is aimed at giving citizens the opportunity to verify their personal details, correct any errors, and raise objections where necessary.

The Commission revealed that, members of the public can also report cases involving deceased persons, foreign nationals, and underage individuals whose names may appear on the register, to ensure they are removed.

INEC therefore urged all those who participated in the second phase of the voter registration exercise to take advantage of the display period to check their information and report any inaccuracies.

It noted that, the move, is part of efforts to strengthen the credibility and integrity of the National Voters Register.
