The member representing Katagum Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Auwalu Abdu Gwalabe, has pledged to sustain development projects across his constituency if re-elected in the 2027 general elections on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Abdu Gwalabe made the pledge when the APM campaign committee in Katagum Local Government Area visited seven district heads to seek their support for the party and its candidates ahead of the elections.
The lawmaker said that despite challenges associated with delays in the release of funds for capital projects, he had continued to facilitate the provision of essential infrastructure for his constituents.
He listed the construction of schools in rural communities, provision of boreholes and rehabilitation of drainage systems among the projects executed across the constituency.
Abdu Gwalabe also expressed optimism that electricity rehabilitation projects in Yayu, Gambaki and Ragwam communities would soon be completed, attributing the delay to the non-release of funds to the contractor.
He further disclosed that construction had commenced on a road project in the Makarahuta area of Azare, describing it as a significant step towards improving infrastructure and access for residents.
The lawmaker appealed to the district heads to support the APM and its candidates in the 2027 general elections, stressing that their cooperation was important for sustained development.
Earlier, the leader of the campaign delegation in Katagum Local Government Area, Alhaji Falalu Attah, said the visit was aimed at seeking the support of traditional rulers in line with the directive of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Alhaji Falalu Attah commended the state government for improving the welfare of traditional rulers through the provision of official vehicles and the construction of official residences for district heads.
He also appealed to the traditional rulers to support the gubernatorial ambition of Dr. Yakubu Damu, PhD, and other APM candidates in the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Katagum Local Government Area, Hon. Yusuf Babayo, described the APM candidates as credible and urged the district heads to encourage their subjects to support the party.
Responding on behalf of the traditional rulers, the District Head of Ragwam, Alhaji Bashar Kabir Umar, and the District Head of Azare, Engineer Magaji Galadima Abdulkadir, commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the Ragwam/Magwanshi road project, the construction of district head palaces and the provision of official vehicles.
They pledged their continued support for development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of their communities.
