The Renewed Hope Initiative of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to persons living with disabilities, internally displaced persons and other vulnerable members of the society in Bauchi State.
The intervention is aimed at cushioning the impact of the prevailing economic hardship and providing immediate relief to individuals and families facing difficult living conditions.
The formal presentation of the food items was held at the Dr. Rilwanu Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi, where the First Lady was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Kashim Shettima.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed appreciation to the government and people of Bauchi State for the warm reception accorded her and her delegation during their visit to the state.
She urged the beneficiaries to use the items for the intended purpose and ensure that the intervention reaches families and individuals who are genuinely in need.
The First Lady also commended the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his administration’s developmental projects and initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of residents.
Also speaking, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Auwal Mohammed Jatau, commended the Renewed Hope Initiative for the intervention.
He described the programme as timely, noting that the rising cost of living and prevailing economic difficulties had continued to place significant pressure on individuals and families.
The Bauchi State Government expressed optimism that its partnership with the Federal Government would continue to attract interventions aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable residents and strengthening social support systems across the state.
On her part, the wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, welcomed the First Lady’s delegation and expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for extending the Renewed Hope Initiative to Bauchi State.
She called for the expansion of similar interventions to other states across the country, particularly in view of the economic challenges confronting many Nigerian households.
Beneficiaries of the program, appreciated the Nigerian first lady for the gesture and promised to make effective use of the items distributed.
