The First Lady of Bauchi State, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has received an award in recognition of her humanitarian contributions and commitment to supporting vulnerable and less-privileged members of society through the Al-Muhibba Foundation.
The award was presented by a delegation from the Al-Basar International Foundation and Christian Blind Mission (CBM) during a courtesy visit to the Government House, Bauchi.
Speaking during the presentation, the Regional Manager of the delegation, Bello Abdullahi Yuguda, said the recognition was in appreciation of the First Lady’s dedication to humanitarian services and her partnership with the organisations in providing free eye-care services to people in need.
As part of the partnership, the delegation also allocated 600 free cataract surgery slots to the Al-Muhibba Foundation to enable it to extend eye care support to more vulnerable residents across the state.
In her response, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed expressed appreciation for the award and the gesture, describing the partnership as a significant step towards improving access to quality healthcare, particularly for people who cannot afford essential medical services.
According to her, collaboration between the Al-Muhibba Foundation, Al-Basar International Foundation and Christian Blind Mission is expected to strengthen humanitarian interventions and expand access to free eye care services across Bauchi State.
