The Bauchi State Local Government Service Commission, in collaboration with Dugge Management Services Limited (DMSL), has organised a two-day sensitisation workshop for 2,332 local government staff ahead of the 2025 promotion examination.
The workshop, held at the Multi-purpose Indoor Sports Hall in Bauchi, was designed to equip participants with the knowledge, techniques and understanding required to prepare effectively for the examination.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Kani Muhammad, described the training as timely and critical to human capital development in the local government service.
He said human capital remained a key factor of production, noting that, the state government had invested significantly in the promotion examination exercise.
Alhaji Muhammad urged participants to see the opportunity as a platform for career advancement and encouraged them to remain committed to their duties and contribute meaningfully to effective service delivery.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Dugge Management Services Limited and consultant to the exercise, Alhaji Gambo Magaji, urged participants to pay close attention to the training sessions.
He said the knowledge acquired would improve their preparedness for the promotion examination and enhance their prospects of advancing to higher grades within the local government service.
Declaring the workshop open, the Chairman of the Bauchi State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Wabi, said Governor Bala Mohammed had approved the conduct of promotion examinations for staff across the state’s 20 local government areas.
He disclosed that the exercise would cover Batch A and B, with about 2,332 employees expected to participate.
According to him, local government staff have benefited from various incentives and training opportunities since the inception of the present administration, describing the initiatives as part of efforts to strengthen human capital, improve productivity and enhance service delivery.
Alhaji Abubakar Wabi said the workshop was intended to expose participants to new ideas, knowledge and techniques that would prepare them adequately for the examination and enable them to progress to the next grade levels.
He therefore urged the participants to take the training seriously, remain attentive throughout the sessions and apply the knowledge gained in their examination preparations.
In his vote of thanks, the Director of Training of the Commission, Alhaji Garba M. Bashi, appreciated the Chairman, Permanent Secretary and management of the Commission for their commitment and prompt response towards organising the exercise.
