Bauchi State Govt seeks citizens’ input on development priorities for 2027 Budget

Bauchi State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has held a public consultation in Misau Local Government Area to obtain citizens’ input on development priorities for the 2027 fiscal year.

The consultation, held at Chartwell Hotel, Misau, brought together stakeholders from the six local government areas of Bauchi Central Senatorial District.

Speaking at the forum, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hajiya Amina Katagum, said the annual consultation was designed to provide members of the public with an opportunity to identify projects and programmes they consider most important to their communities.

She explained that the views and recommendations gathered from the people would assist the state government in preparing a people oriented budget that adequately responds to the development needs of communities in the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of Misau Local Government, Alhaji Salisu Hussain, commended the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for the development projects and interventions executed in the area.

He, however, appealed to the state government to construct two additional roads—the Eldorado Road and the Hardawa-to-Zadawa Road to improve transportation, boost economic activities and enhance connectivity within the area.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Dambam Local Government, Alhaji Ilyasu Isah Dagauda, commended Governor Bala Mohammed for the various projects and interventions carried out in Dambam Local Government Area.

In his remarks, a Director in the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, expressed satisfaction with the state government’s decision to directly engage citizens in the budgeting process.

He commended participants for their contributions and assured them that the ministry would carefully consider the issues, suggestions and requests raised during the consultation as part of its planning process.
