Bogoro Local Government pledges support for malaria prevention campaign

Bogoro Local Government Council has pledged its full support for the distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets and other malaria prevention materials across communities in the area.
The Chairman of the Council, Dr. Zakka Luka Magaji, made the commitment when he received a malaria intervention team led by Alhaji Ridwan Umar of the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (BACATMA) in his office.
Dr. Zakk Magaji described the intervention as timely and paramount, saying it would help protect families and improve the health and wellbeing of people at the grassroots.
He assured the team that the Council would provide the necessary support and cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the exercise.
The Chairman stressed that the intervention should go beyond distribution to ensure that the materials effectively reach the intended beneficiaries.
He also commended the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his continued investment in healthcare and efforts to strengthen malaria prevention and control in the state.
Dr. Zakka Magaji warned against sabotage, negligence and other forms of misconduct capable of undermining the programme, urging all stakeholders to uphold transparency, responsibility and commitment throughout the exercise.
He reaffirmed the Council’s readiness to collaborate with health authorities and development partners in strengthening public health interventions and ensuring that government programmes deliver tangible benefits to residents.
Earlier, the leader of the intervention team and Coordinator of BACATMA, Alhaji Ridwan Umar, briefed the Chairman on the objectives and scope of the exercise.
He explained that the intervention was designed to strengthen malaria prevention through the distribution of ITN cards, insecticide-treated mosquito nets and other essential malaria prevention materials to targeted communities.
Alhaji Ridwan Umar called for the cooperation of the Local Government Council, traditional and community leaders, health workers and residents to ensure the success of the exercise and guarantee that the materials reach the intended beneficiaries.
He assured the Chairman of the agency’s readiness to work with relevant stakeholders to reduce the burden of malaria and protect the health and wellbeing of residents in Bogoro Local Government Area.
