College Of Education Technical Dass Sets to Introduce Internal Scholarships for Pioneer Students

The College of Education Technical, Dass, has concluded arrangements to introduce an internal scholarship scheme to promote academic excellence and good moral conduct among students.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Kabiru Baraya Aliyu, disclosed this during the institution’s 2025/2026 academic session first matriculation ceremony held at the college.
Dr. Aliyu said the initiative is aimed at raising the standard of technical education and boosting retention and enrollment of NCE students across Bauchi State.
He described matriculation as a key requirement for qualifying admitted students as bona fide members of a tertiary institution. He urged the new students to cooperate with management to ensure smooth academic activities.
The Provost reaffirmed the college’s commitment to providing access to quality education and molding students’ character to become future leaders.
Administering the oath of allegiance to about 326 matriculating students, the Registrar, Mallam Nasiru Burga, urged them to shun all forms of misconduct, including cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse, and indecent dressing.
On Academic expansion, Dr. Aliyu revealed that the college is making arrangements to introduce degree programmes, postgraduate diploma programmes, innovation diploma programmes, and national diploma programmes.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his support to tertiary institutions, particularly the newly established College of Education Technical, Dass.
In his remarks, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, expressed concern over attitude of some stakeholders in the Emirate of undermining efforts to uphold standards at the institution, aimed at maintaining academic excellence and discipline.
The Emir also called on parents to complement government’s efforts by enrolling their children in the College in order to achieve Academic Excellence.
