Ningi Local Government Council acquires additional land for the expansion of Jimi Market.
The Ningi Local Government administration has purchased an additional plot of land worth ten million naira for the expansion of Jimi Market in the area.
Speaking during the official handover of the land to the market officials, the Chairman of the local government Alhaji Nasiru Zakarai in a statement by the Information Officer of the council Kamilu Barau Ningi explained that the decision was driven by the urgent need to address the shortage of space in the market.
According to him, many local traders who attend the weekly market struggle to display their goods due to limited space.
He expressed optimism that the expansion will attract more traders, which in turn boost the internally generated revenue of the local government.
The chairman emphasized that his leadership style is business-oriented, revealing plans to acquire more land for market development in targeted communities, including Gadar Maiwa.
Alhaji Zakarai urged community members to support the government’s policies and programs, noting that collective efforts are key to sustainable development.
In his remarks, the District Head of Ari, Alhaji Muhammad Kilishi Musa, commended the chairman for his unwavering commitment to the community.
