The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Bauchi State Chapter, has called on the Bauchi State Government to release the approved N10 billion fund to begin the payment of gratuities to retired civil servants across the state.

Speaking in response to Governor Bala Mohammed’s ongoing efforts to clear outstanding pension backlogs, NULGE State President, Comrade Muhammad Yunusa, stated that the fund’s approval demonstrates the administration’s commitment to easing the financial burdens of retirees.

Comrade Yunusa Muhammad commended the state government for prioritizing the welfare of local government workers through staff training, regular promotions, and the full implementation of the approved salary structure.

He highlighted the administration’s achievements in key sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and job creation.

Pledging the union’s continued support for the present administration, Comrade Yunusa Muhammad who holds the traditional title of Garkuwan Dass, also assured support for future governance following the 2027 general elections.

The NULGE President urged union members to remain law abiding and thanked the state government and security agencies for maintaining peace across Bauchi.

He encouraged residents to leverage the state’s relative security and fertile land by engaging in year round agricultural activities.
