The Manager of BRC FM Gamawa, Alhaji Muhammad Musa, has called on staff of the station to uphold professionalism and adhere strictly to the ethics and principles of journalism in the discharge of their duties.
He made the call during the station’s monthly quality control meeting held recently, stressing that professional conduct remains the defining characteristic of credible journalists.
Alhaji Musa said the appeal had become necessary in view of the growing trend of individuals using media platforms to disseminate unverified information, thereby undermining public trust in journalism.
According to him, verifying information before publication and complying with established journalistic standards are the key factors that distinguish professional journalists from untrained information disseminators.
The station manager also urged members of staff to remain united, committed, and supportive of one another in order to enhance the growth and development of BRC FM Gamawa.
The monthly quality control meeting is conducted across all community radio stations in the state at the end of each month to review achievements, assess performance, and identify challenges affecting the stations.
