Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has felicitated with the people of Bauchi State and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the 2026 New Year, expressing gratitude to God Almighty for guiding the state and the nation through the challenges of 2025.
The Governor described the successful transition into the New Year as an act of divine grace, noting that, despite prevailing economic, political and social challenges, the people of Bauchi State remained resilient, steadfast and prayerful.
Governor Bala Mohammed commended citizens for their patience and perseverance in the face of economic hardship, assuring them that his administration will continue to provide palliative support while pursuing sustainable economic solutions to improve the standard of living of the people.
He reiterated the commitment of the state government to the full implementation of the outcomes of the recently held Bauchi State Investment and Economic Summit, aimed at accelerating economic growth and fostering social development across the state.
The Governor further assured residents that his administration remains fully committed to the delivery of key infrastructural and social projects.
He highlighted ongoing interventions in road construction and rehabilitation, mass housing, urban renewal, education, agriculture, economic empowerment and youth development, stressing that efforts will be intensified to consolidate gains across all sectors.
Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized the importance of consultation, stakeholder engagement and community participation in governance, reaffirming that accountability to the people remains a core principle of his administration.
He restated the government’s belief in the right of citizens to hold leaders accountable and pledged to continue promoting a culture of collective responsibility and mutual care.
On security, the Governor reassured residents that, Bauchi State will not serve as a safe haven for criminal elements.
He pledged sustained support for security agencies and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement by promptly reporting suspicious activities, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum, Governor Bala Mohammed appealed to political parties, aspirants and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and in strict adherence to the provisions of the Electoral Act.
He warned that the government would not hesitate to apply the law against any individual or group found engaging in acts capable of breaching public peace.
The Governor called for sustained prayers, cooperation and understanding from traditional rulers, religious leaders, stakeholders and politicians across party lines to ensure lasting peace, unity and prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
He wished the people of Bauchi State and Nigerians a peaceful, productive and prosperous 2026.
