Former Nigerian Senate President commissions 500 seater ICT and CBT Centre in Azare.

Former Nigerian Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has commissioned a 500 seater Information and Communication Technology and Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The facility was established by the Bauchi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate and founder of the Assufiyya Humanitarian Foundation, Alhaji Usman Adamu Sufy, as part of efforts to promote education, digital literacy and youth empowerment in the state.

Represented at the commissioning ceremony by former Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, Dr. Bukola Saraki congratulated the people of Katagum and Bauchi State for having a son committed to community development.

He commended Adamu Sufy for his foresight, capacity and commitment to youth empowerment, education and human capital development.

Dr. Bukola Saraki urged people of Katagum to take ownership of the facility and make effective use of it to enhance their digital knowledge and skills.

Speaking at the occasion, the initiator of the project, Alhaji Usman Adamu Sufy, described the centre as more than a physical structure, saying it represented hope, opportunity and a significant investment in education and human capital development.

He explained that, the 500 seater centre was equipped with new laptops at every workstation, a Local Area Network (LAN) and other facilities required for conducting computer-based examinations.

According to him, the centre was designed to expose students and young people in Katagum, Bauchi State and neighbouring communities to digital opportunities, professional certifications and emerging technologies.

He added that the facility would enable thousands of students to sit for computer-based examinations in a conducive environment while providing young people with opportunities to acquire relevant digital skills.

Usman Adamu pointed out, that the future belonged to societies that embraced knowledge, innovation and technology.
