The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi State, Yakubu Adamu, has described the election of credible and competent leaders at the grassroots as essential to effective development, accountability and improved service delivery.
Yakubu Adamu stated this shortly after casting his ballot at Polling Unit 007, Gulbun Kafar Fada, in Giade Local Government Area, during the Bauchi State Local Government and Councillorship Elections.
He expressed satisfaction with the voter turnout and peaceful conduct of the election, commending Governor Bala Mohammed and the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission for providing what he described as a level playing field for all political parties and candidates.
The APM candidate also commended security agencies, political party agents and election observers for their contributions towards ensuring a peaceful, credible and transparent electoral process across the local government area.
He urged residents to sustain the peaceful atmosphere, stressing that credible grassroots leadership would strengthen accountability, improve service delivery and promote development in communities across Bauchi State.
Yakubu Adamu further noted that, effective representation at the local level was crucial to addressing the needs of communities, promoting inclusive governance and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reached ordinary citizens.
He called on elected council officials to place public interest above personal considerations, work closely with their communities and deliver measurable results capable of improving the lives of the people.
