Emir of Toro Turbans New Ribina District Head

The Emir of Toro, Alhaji Umar Adamu, has turbaned Alhaji Usman Yakubu Sanusi as the new District Head of Ribina, urging him to uphold honesty, fairness, and unity in the discharge of his responsibilities.

The turbaning ceremony, held at the Emir’s Palace in Toro, was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the Ribina community.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Emir charged the new district head to lead with integrity and carry all his subjects along, irrespective of their religious, ethnic, or political affiliations.

He emphasized that the new traditional ruler should be a father to all and ensure that his leadership is guided by justice, fairness, and truthfulness to sustain peace and harmony in the district.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Toro Local Government Area, Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, congratulated Alhaji Sanusi on his appointment and urged him to remain loyal to the Emirate and constituted authorities while promoting the dignity of traditional institutions.

Represented by the Director of Administration and General Services, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Polchi, the council chairman described traditional institutions as the closest tier of leadership to the people and encouraged the new district head to support government policies and serve as a bridge between the government and the people of Ribina.

In his response, the new District Head, Alhaji Usman Yakubu Sanusi, expressed gratitude to the Emir of Toro and the Bauchi State Government for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to justify the trust by serving the people of Ribina with dedication, fairness, and commitment.

Alhaji Usman Yakubu Sanusi succeeds his late father, who died about two months ago.
