Class of 1998 Alumni train 300 Women in Toro to support APM Governorship candidate

Over 300 women in Toro Local Government Area have completed a comprehensive one month skills acquisition program organized by the 1998 Set of Government College Toro.
The move is geared to empowering local communities and boosting support for Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate, Dr. Yakubu Adamu.
Speaking on behalf of the alumni group, Alhaji Shehu M. Mohammed emphasized the central role women play in political stability, economic growth, and broader national development.
He explained that the initiative was conceived to make women financially independent while rallying support for their peer, Dr. Adamu, ahead of the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election.
He urged the beneficiaries to maximize the knowledge gained and step up as mentors to other women within their communities.
Representing the APM governorship candidate, the Chairman of the Class of 1998, Architect Suleiman Ahmad, expressed gratitude to his former classmates for the strategic support.
He assured residents that if elected in 2027, Dr. Adamu would build upon the developmental legacies of incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Toro Local Government Area, Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo represented by the Councilor for Toro Ward, Muhammad Kabir Usman congratulated the participants and reiterated the local administration’s commitment to youth and women empowerment.
He noted that the state government, under Governor Bala Mohammed, remains dedicated to delivering essential grassroots development across Bauchi State.
Beneficiaries at the ceremony voiced appreciation for the alumni association’s support, pledging to apply their new skills to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their local economies.
The intensive training covered key practical trades, including computer literacy, cosmetology, and catering, designed to foster economic self reliance among female residents.
