Bauchi State Govt and MUFAZ Care Foundation distribute palliatives to 2026 flood victims in Alkaleri

Bauchi State Government, in partnership with MUFAZ Care Foundation, has distributed palliative materials to victims of the 2026 flood disaster in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

The relief materials were presented during a ceremony held at Futuk, the headquarters of Gwana District, as part of efforts to cushion the hardship faced by residents whose properties were affected by the flood.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government, Alhaji Bappa Mohammed Aliyu, said the intervention was necessary considering the extent of damage recorded in various communities during the 2026 rainy season.

Alhaji Bappa Aliyu expressed appreciation to the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and the leadership of MUFAZ Care Foundation for supporting the affected communities with relief materials.

In his welcome address, Alhaji Sani Dankani commended the state government and the local government administration for their prompt response to the disaster.

He also called for sustained efforts to strengthen community security and appealed for additional developmental projects to address some of the challenges confronting communities in the area.

Similarly, the District Head of Yalo, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammad Yalo, and Alhaji Dattuwa Shehu Futuk, in separate remarks, appreciated the authorities for initiating the relief intervention despite the prevailing economic challenges.

Traditional rulers and community representatives pledged their continued support and cooperation with the government in promoting peace, stability and effective delivery of development programmes.
