The Bauchi State Government has Commenced distribution of Ramadan palliatives to all the 20 local government areas, religious organizations, and selected groups.
The initiative, led by the State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, is to cushion economic hardship during the holy month.
The palliatives include bags of millet, rice, maize ,sorghum, and 5,000 bags of sugar, coordinated to reach out to beneficiaries in both urban and rural communities
The State Commissioner Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka urged local government chairmen to ensure equitable distribution, saying the gesture was approved by Governor Bala Mohammed to ease citizens’ burden.
Responding, representatives of JNI, CAN, and other groups appreciated the government and pledged their support.
Local government chairmen as also received the items on behalf of their councils for onward distribution to beneficiaries.
The initiative covers both Ramadan and Sallah support, aimed at improving the welfare citizens during the festive period.
