Bauchi Civil Service Commission collaborates with Bureau for ICT on Digital Transformation

Bauchi State Civil Service Commission
has intensified collaboration with the Bauchi State Bureau for Information, Communication Technology and Digital Economy, towards the digitization of the Commission’s activities.
The Commission held a meeting with the Director General of the State Bureau for Information Technology, Hayatuddeen Baba Ma’aji, on the development, in Bauchi.
Hayatuddeen Baba Ma’aji who was represented by other officials from the State Bureau for ICT,promised to digitize the activities of the commission,in order to meet with the global best practices.
The D-G,represented by Director Computer, Malam Danlami Muhammad and other officials from the Bureau,maintained that the digitization,would enhance productivity and boost capacity of staff of the Commission.
In his remarks,the Chairman Bauchi State Civil Service Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad,stated that, the move is in line with the Bauchi State Government’s broader digital transformation agenda, which seeks to automate government services and improve efficiency in public service delivery.
Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad said, the State Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy has a mandate to support Ministries, Departments and Agencies in digitizing their operations, hence the collaboration.
He noted that the move would strengthen the Commission’s capacity to deliver its responsibilities in a more transparent, efficient and timely manner.
Dr. Ibrahim explained that, digitization of the Commission’s activities,would enhance accessibility to information, improve data management and provide a more effective system for handling promotions, appointments, transfers, conversions and other personnel matters.
The initiative is aimed at modernizing the Commission’s operations, improving efficiency, enhancing record management and reducing reliance on manual processes in the management of civil service matters.
The collaboration,would also facilitate the development and deployment of appropriate digital systems for the management of personnel records and other activities of the Commission.
The CSC has previously indicated commitment to digitalize its activities, in order to learn from other states that successfully adopted digital systems in their civil service operations.
To this end, the Commission had engaged the Director General of the Bureau in an extra-ordinary meeting, where he assured that already a digital system have been developed for the Commission.
The digitization is expected to contribute significantly to the Commission’s reform efforts and support the transformation of the Bauchi State Civil Service into a more technology-driven and efficient institution.
