Katagum LG Blind community expresses concern for the welfare of persons with disabilities.
Members of the blind community in Katagum Local Government Area have congratulated the Chairman of the council, Yusuf Babayo Zaki, on his re-election for a second term in office.
The delegation, led by the Sarkin Makafin Azare, Malam Musa Isah, paid a congratulatory visit to the chairman to appreciate his continued support and concern for the welfare of persons living with disabilities in the local government area.
Malam Musa Isah recalled that the chairman had recently supported members of the blind community with food items, describing the gesture as a demonstration of his commitment to addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable groups.
He, however, appealed to the council chairman to renovate their accommodation, which he said was in a deteriorating condition and could collapse if urgent repairs were not carried out.
The Sarkin Makafi of Azare also prayed for the success of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, in his senatorial ambition in Bauchi South, as well as for the success of Yusuf Babayo Zaki in administering Katagum Local Government and the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in the 2027 elections.
Responding, the Chairman of Katagum Local Government Yusuf Babayo Zaki thanked the members of the blind community for the congratulatory visit, describing the gesture as a reflection of the cordial relationship between his administration and persons living with disabilities.
The chairman assured the delegation that he would send representatives to assess the condition of their accommodation and promised to commence efforts towards renovating the building without delay.
Yusuf Babayo Zaki reaffirmed his commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community and sustaining the existing relationship with the blind community throughout his tenure.
