Politicians in the country, have urged to create meaningful employment opportunities for young people and women for national development and productivity.
A renowned politician, Dr. Auwal Baba Jada, made the call after receiving a Sports Award of Excellence for his contributions to sports development in Bauchi State.
The award ceremony was organized by Vengary Sports Centre in collaboration with Kolmani Sports Academy.
Dr. Baba Jada, who reflected on his days as a staff of the defunct NEPA, said he facilitated the recruitment of over 600 workers in Bauchi and Gombe States, aimed at promoting self-reliance and reducing economic hardship.
He described such opportunities as powerful tools that leaders should use to uplift their people.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Dr. Baba Jada expressed readiness to contest for the seat of Member, Bauchi Federal Constituency.
He assured that, if elected, he will focus on the true representation, which he described as the foundation of effective leadership.
Dr. Baba Jada outlined key areas he intends to prioritize, including educational scholarships for underprivileged youth, agricultural development, skills-acquisition programmes, and people-centered projects tailored to community needs.
The award recipient, who owns ABJ Football Club, also highlighted sports as a strong unifying force among youths.
He added that fairness and justice in managing players are major reasons for the club’s success.
As a former chairman of Wikki Tourists FC, called on the club’s current management to motivate players by ensuring they receive their entitlements promptly, noting that this is crucial for improved performance.
