Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has called on higher educational institutions to develop innovative approaches to promote nationalism, peace, and security in the country.
This call was made during the Maiden Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Memorial Lecture, organized by the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Centre for Peace and Security Studies at Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau.
Represented by Barrister Hussein Saraki, Permanent Commissioner 1 of the Bauchi State Scholarship Board, the Governor emphasized the importance of echoing the legacy of Nigerian nationalists like Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa for the benefit of younger generations.
The Governor noted that the ideals and values of these nationalists should serve as a guiding light for the country’s development.
Brigadier General Usman Kuka Sheka (Rtd), the Guest speaker, identified corruption, poor governance, and unpatriotism as the root causes of Nigeria’s security threats.
He emphasized the need for stakeholders to work together to build a more stable and prosperous future for all Nigerians.
Usman Kuka Sheka observed that the lecture provides a platform for discussing important issues of finding solutions to the country’s challenges.
