Bauchi State Urban Water and Sewerage Corporation has assured residents of Bura Emirate that their request for improved access to potable water will be considered.

The Chairman Governing Board of the Corporation, Engineer Salmanu Muhammad Duguri, gave the assurance during an official working visit to Ningi Local Government Area alongside Managing Director of the Corporation, Hajiya Uwani Garba Dagauda, and some senior officers.

The visit formed part of the board’s ongoing assessment of water facilities across Bauchi State to evaluate existing infrastructure and enhance service delivery.

The delegation later visited Bura Emirate following an invitation from the community, where Emir, Alhaji Ya’u Shehu Abubakar, appealed for corporation’s intervention to improve access to potable water.

The community, with a population of more than twenty thousand people, highlighted the urgent need for a sustainable water supply to meet the needs of its residents.

Engineer Duguri said the request had been noted and would be considered in line with mandate of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, to ensure access to clean and safe water across the state.

He commended the community for presenting its concerns in an organised manner.

Also, during the visit, the delegation paid a condolence visit to Abubakar Baninge, the corporation’s Strategic Business Unit Manager in Ningi, who lost his father.

The chairman, on behalf of the board and management, sympathized with the bereaved family and prayed for peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul, as well as strength for the family to bear the loss.
