Bauchi State legislature emphasizes the importance of youth and women empowerment
Bauchi State House of Assembly has emphasized the need for governments at all levels to resuscitate and provide tools at skills acquisition centers in the state for jobs and wealth creation.
The Chairman, Cooperatives committee of the state assembly Alhaji Ahmed Abdullahi stated this when he led other members of the committee to inspect the conditions of the acquisition centers in Toro, Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government areas.
He said, this will go a long way in increasing human capital output that will speed up and sustain economic growth in Bauchi State.
According to him, a well-funded, adequately tooled and efficiently manned skill acquisition centre will nurture the youths, encouraget private sector and help the rural poor to be strong participants in the economic development of the State.
Ahmad Abdullahi highlighted that, Governor Bala’s administration has promised to make youth and women as the centre-piece of its attention.
The chairman of the committee added that, the visit by the committee served as a vital opportunity for them to assess the current state of skill acquisition centres and to formulate a holistic approach to revitalizing the skills acquisition centers and ensuring their sustainability in the long term.
Alhaji Ahmed Abdullahi said the committee after the inspection visit, will write a comprehensive report to the state government for necessary action.
Receiving the committee members in thier respective offices, the Chairmen of Toro Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, Dass, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Jibo, Bogoro, Surveyor Lawi Sumi, and that of Tafawa Balewa, Alhaji Sama’ila Wakili pledged thier readiness to compliment governments to reduce youths restiveness and empower women for the socioeconomic development of the state.
