The Bauchi State Government has distributed 146,756 scholastic materials to basic education schools across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning.

The Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Mansur Abdo, disclosed this while addressing newsmen during the distribution exercise at the board’s headquarters, Bauchi.

He explained that the materials were provided under the 2025/2026 intervention programme in collaboration with the Federal Government to strengthen basic education and provide pupils and teachers with essential learning resources.

Alhaji Mansur Abdo urged teachers, parents and other stakeholders to ensure that the materials reach the intended beneficiaries, warning against their diversion or misuse.

He also called on parents and relevant stakeholders to encourage all eligible children to enrol in school and remain in the education system until completion.

Alhaji Mansur Abdo commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s efforts in recruiting qualified teachers, constructing and renovating schools, providing learning materials and improving teachers’ welfare.

He expressed optimism that the intervention would contribute to improved learning outcomes and strengthen the delivery of basic education in Bauchi State.

The materials distributed include customised chalk, dusters, school bags, shoes, exercise books, pencils, attendance registers, admission registers and school diaries.
