Bauchi State Government pledges to revitalize Tourism sector and boost revenue generation

The newly appointed Bauchi State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Babayo Gabarin, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to unlocking its rich tourism potential to attract global patronage and drive internal revenue growth.
Alhaji Babayo Gabarin stated this during a courtesy visit to his office by executive members of the Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation, led by Board Chairman Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Danmalikin Bauchi.
The commissioner emphasized that the administration is determined to harness the state’s cultural and natural assets to create new economic opportunities.
He added that, his leadership would remain open to strategic advice from sector professionals and development partners to modernize the state’s tourism infrastructure.
Speaking earlier, the Board Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Danmalikin Bauchi, said the delegation visited to congratulate the commissioner on his appointment and brief him on key challenges facing the sector.
He assured the commissioner of the board’s full support, particularly in positioning premier destinations like the Yankari Game Reserve and other cultural monuments as primary drivers of state revenue.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of the Tourism Development Corporation, Alhaji Muhammad Nasir Yusuf, commended the Bauchi State Government for passing the legislation that established the corporation and for prioritizing the development of the tourism industry.
