The State Commissioner of Information and Communication has reiterates commitment towards improving the media sector in the state.
The Commissioner, Usman Garba Danturaki gave the assurance during a one day training programme on quality service delivery for media casual workers organized by the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in collaboration with the Bauchi Radio Corporation .
Comrade Usman Danturaki said the present administration is working round the clock with a view to providing policies and programs in the best interest of it’s citizens through developmental projects as well as all sectors of human endeavor which include the media.
The Commissioner also reiterated that the state government is not unaware about the numerous dedication and contribution of casual staff working in the state own media organizations, saying sooner than later this would be confensated.
He commended governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for his support to the media sector and appreciated the NUJ for its resilience to make the training a success.
In his remarks, the Chairman Board of Directors Bauchi Broadcasting commission, Alhaji Inuwa Bello, described the effort being made by the state government especially the ministry of Information and Communication towards reviving and sustaining quality media sector as commendable.
Alhaji Inuwa Bello who was the special guest at the occasion, also urged participants to always maintain the ethics of journalism profession therefore stated that his agency and the ministry of Information and Communication is working hand in hand toward addressing the challenges been face by the sector to achieve the desired objectives.
In his welcome address, the State Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Umar Saidu, expressed the union’s commitment to collaborate with the state government towards upgrading the experience of casual workers working in different media organizations for uptimal performance.
Comrade Umar Saidu, appealed to the state government to engage the casual workers working in own media organizations so as to save the sector from collapse.
In his presentation, a resource person at the training, Mal. Dalhat Hamid Bello, urged the participants to prioritize professionalism and ethics with the aim of injecting quality materials and news to the public for the development of journalism profession and the country in general.
