The newly appointed Village Heads in Alkaleri Local Government Area have been urged to remain dedicated to their responsibilities and work together for the growth and development of their communities.
The wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad, gave the charge during the turbaning ceremony of the new Village Heads, held at her residence in Alkaleri.
She advised the traditional rulers to be inclusive in their leadership by carrying everyone along in the interest of peace, unity, and community development.
Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad also called on them to monitor and guide their children in order to curb the menace of gender-based violence in society.
In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Imam of Alkaleri, Malam Sa’idu Umar, called on the new Village Heads to discharge their responsibilities diligently, reminding them that leadership is a trust for which they will be accountable before God.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Hassan Garba Bajama advised the new Village Heads to work in synergy for the benefit of their people, while demonstrating patience, loyalty, and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
He commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for creating four additional village heads in the area.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the newly appointed Village Heads, the Dan Amar of Alkaleri expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Muhammad for the gesture and assured him that the traditional rulers would discharge their responsibilities with commitment and integrity.
