Bauchi Lawmaker says creation of additional Local govts will facilitate developmental progress

The Spokesperson and Chief Whip of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Musa Wakili Nakwada says the creation of additional Local Government Areas in Bauchi will bring government more closer to the people at the grassroots level and to facilitate local development.
The lawmaker was speaking in an interview with Parliamentary Correspondents on the move by the State assembly on the need to create additional local government areas.
According to him, the strategy aims to improve governance, enhance participation, and ensure that the impact of government initiatives is felt more directly by citizens.
He added that, creating new LGAs can allow for the recognition of distinct ethnic, cultural, or economic interests within a larger area.
Musa Wakili Nakwada revealed that, the Nigerian Constitution empowers state governments to create new LGAs, subject to certain conditions and recognition by the National Assembly.
The member representing Bogoro constituency noted that, the constitutional provision allows for flexibility in adapting the structure of local government to evolving needs.
He highlighted the need for national assembly members from Bauchi State to support the move and contributes in actualizing the dream.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Dr. Abubakar Y Sulaiman has announced the composition of Ad-Hoc Committee leadership on the restoration and creation of additional Local Government in Bauchi.
The committee has, Jamilu Ummaru Dahiru as Chairman, Saleh Hodi Jibir -Deputy Chairman, Bala Abdu Rishi- Member and Musa Wakili Nakwada, Member
Others are, Saleh Zakariyya – Member, Rt. Hon. Babayo Muhammad Akuyam- Member, Bello Sarkin Jadauri–Member, Bala Abdullahi Dan- Member, Abdurrashid Adamu Mu’azu-Member.
Others include, Muhammad Wanzam- Member, Mubarak Haruna- Member, Yusuf Sa’idu Ahmed-Member, Builder Suleiman Sa’idu Darazo-Member, Ibrahim Tanko Burra-Member and Adamu Garba Kawu Member, while Musa Yarima, Acting Deputy Clerk would serve as Secretary with Sama’ila Gwamna as Co-Secretary.
