Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has presented a proposed 2026 budget of over N878 billion to the State House of Assembly.
Presenting the proposal, the governor disclosed that the state recorded over 79 percent performance in the implementation of the 2025 budget.
He said the 2026 fiscal proposal was carefully developed to ensure the completion of critical projects, effective implementation of the pension scheme, and continued compliance with debt repayment obligations, among other priorities.
Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to diligently pursuing the successful implementation of the 2026 budget, which is themed “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability for the Rapid Development of the State.”
He expressed appreciation to members of the State House of Assembly for their support and solidarity toward his administration over the past six years, urging them to sustain the partnership in the interest of continued progress.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman, assured the governor of the legislature’s readiness to ensure the timely passage of the budget to enable the government commence implementation without delay.
