Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reassured the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) of his administration’s commitment to ensure accountability in the utilization of funds from the federal government’s Natural Resources Development Fund.
Speaking while he received in audience, delegation from the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal commission, (RMAFC) led by Ambassador Desmond Akawor, (RMAFC) Federal Commissioner Governor Bala Mohammed expressed appreciation to both former President Muhammadu Buhari for approving ₦17bn and President Bola Tinubu for ensuring its release.
The governor disclosed that the funds had been strategically allocated to projects in natural resources development, agriculture, irrigation, and tourism, with about ₦7bn kept for other important projects.
He highlighted key projects funded by the allocation to include, the ongoing construction of the
Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy, upgrade of Fertilizer blending plant in partnership with OCP Morocco, Irrigation demonstration schemes across the three senatorial zones of the state and the ongoing installation of solar-powered at Yankari Games Reserve among others.
He stressed that the projects were designed to create value chains in agriculture, mining, tourism, and energy, while boosting job creation for Bauchi’s youths.
On his part, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, who led the RMAFC’s delegation, said the team was in Bauchi to verify the use of funds received from the Federal Government and confirmed that the committee had inspected ongoing projects at the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy, and Yankari Game Reserve.
