By Lukman Adam

Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has endorsed the post-retirement appointment of Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed, a former Deputy Director in the Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), as Director, Community Radio Stations.

The endorsement was among decisions reached during the Commission’s plenary session held in Bauchi.

Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed was considered for appointment as Director, Community Radio Stations, Bauchi Radio Corporation, on Substantive Grade Level 16, following his retirement from the state civil service.

The Commission also approved the promotion of seven officers to their next grade levels as Assistant Chief Works Superintendents, Senior Works Superintendents and Higher Technical Officers on Grade Levels 8, 9 and 13 respectively.

In another decision, 18 Health Information Technician students on Grade Level 3 were upgraded to Medical Records Technicians on Grade Level 7.

The Commission further approved the conversion of one officer from Assistant Store Officer on Grade Level 6 to Administrative Officer II on Grade Level 8.

However, the Commission rejected two submissions seeking acting appointments as Assistant Chief Commercial Officer and Technical Officer, citing lack of suitability and irrelevant qualifications.

The submissions presented to the Commission were from the Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), Bauchi State Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (BSUWSC), and the Hospital Management Board (HMB).

A total of 30 cases were presented for consideration, out of which 28 were successfully deliberated upon by the Commission.
