The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the promotion of Procurement Officers in the state civil service as part of efforts to motivate personnel, enhance professionalism and strengthen public service delivery.
The decision was taken during the Commission’s plenary meeting, where members also adopted the minutes of its previous meetings to facilitate the implementation of earlier resolutions.
The promotion is expected to boost the morale of the affected officers, encourage efficiency and further strengthen the procurement system across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that promotions and other personnel matters are handled in accordance with established rules and regulations governing the civil service.
It also urged civil servants in the state to remain dedicated, transparent and committed to their responsibilities in order to promote effective and efficient service delivery.
The Commission also approved the promotion of 18 officers to various positions, including Principal Executive Officers I and II, Senior Executive Officers (Procurement), and one Principal Executive Officer (Accounts), on Grade Levels 9, 10 and 12, respectively.
However, the promotion of one officer was deferred pending clarification of the recommendations and fulfilment of other necessary requirements.
The Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, who presided over the meeting, congratulated the successful candidates and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through improved performance.
