Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission has organized a three day training for sport desk officers and game masters on enhancing game administration and sports
development in Bauchi schools.
In his remark at Smart school Bauchi, venue of the training, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri reafirmed the Bauchi state government’s commitment to improving sporting activities in the basic education.
Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri represented by Permanent Commissioner two at the board Alhaji Idris Ahmad Hardawa said the aim of the training is to intimate the participants on the techniques of athletes to step down to their students ahead of the fourth comming UBEC games to hold in Bauchi.
He tasked the participants to be attentive during the technical session to achieve the set objectives.
Also speaking, the Director of school services SUBEB Malam Zuhairu Usman called on the sport officers and game masters to select talented students across all the public Basic schools in the state to represent the state during the competition.
The Director said the importance of sport in physical fitness and learning process of students cannot be overemphasised, hence the need for organizing the training.
On his part, the representative of the Bauchi state ministry of sport Malam Bala Umar Maijama’a assured their readiness to support SUBEB in its quest to improve grass root sport through basic education in the state.
In a vote of thanks, the headmaster of Smart school Yushe’u Mu’azu thanked the State Universal Basic Board for recognizing the importance of sport activities in students at Basic level and assured their dedication to support the initiative.
