The Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Garba Hassan Bajama, has urged traditional leaders to refrain from accommodating unknown individuals without proper verification, as part of efforts to enhance security of lives and property in the area.
The Chairman made the call during a security stakeholders’ meeting held at Alkaleri Local Government Council Chamber.
The meeting brought together security operatives and community leaders to deliberate on strategies for addressing prevailing security concerns.
He stressed that indiscriminate hosting of strangers would worsen the security situation, noting that thorough background checks are necessary before granting anyone access to communities.
According to the chairman, strict adherence to these measures would significantly support ongoing efforts to tackle security challenges in Alkaleri and its environs.
Bajama also appealed to residents and leaders to offer prayers for sustained peace and stability in Alkaleri, Bauchi State, and the country at large.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of State Services DSS, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as traditional rulers from across the local government area.
