AGILE approves 14 Learning Centers for out-of-school Girls in Bogoro

The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Council, Dr. Zakka Luka Magaji, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities and skills acquisition for out-of-school girls and young women in the local government area.

Dr. Zakka Magaji made the statement during a courtesy visit to his office by the Bauchi State Coordinator of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, Hajia Halima Muhammad.

Expressing appreciation for the approval of 14 new learning centers in Bogoro LGA, Dr. Zakka Magaji described the initiative as a major milestone toward integrating vulnerable young women into the formal and non-formal education systems.

He praised Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for prioritizing human capital development, while also thanking the World Bank and the AGILE project team for their sustained intervention.

He also commended the newly recruited facilitators for their orderly conduct during the selection process, urging them to treat the assignment as a transformative service to their communities.

Earlier, Hajiya Halima Muhammad stated that the delegation was in Bogoro Local Government to oversee the identification and recruitment of facilitators for the Alternative Education Programme.

She explained that the initiative, jointly supported by the World Bank and the Bauchi State Government, aims to bridge the educational gap for out-of-school girls through structured learning and empowerment modules.

The 14 designated learning centers across Bogoro LGA include Bogoro, Boi, Dinki, Gambar Zugum, Gobbiya, Lusa, Dungah, Najoga, Ndit, Tadnum A, Tadnum B, Banram A, Banram B, and the Women Center Bogoro.
