Bauchi First Lady urges Women to uphold integrity and support credible leaders

The First Lady of Bauchi State, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has charged women in the state to uphold high moral standards and personal dignity as a pathway to securing greater representation in elective political offices ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by a political delegation from the Kirfi/Alkaleri Federal Constituency at her office, the First Lady emphasized that integrity remains crucial for female politicians aspiring to contest and win elections.

She also reminded mothers of their foundational responsibility to ensure the proper moral upbringing of their children.

Addressing the delegation’s leader, Hajara Wanka, a candidate for the Kirfi/Alkaleri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr. Aisha Bala advised that public office must be treated as a trust dedicated to human development.

Dr. Aisha Bala further called on political campaign groups to intensify grassroots voter education throughout the Kirfi/Alkaleri axis.

She urged voters to prioritize credibility when electing leaders across all levels of governance, from local council positions to executive offices.

She cautioned political actors to avoid empty promises, advising campaigns to commit only to realistic, fulfillable pledges.

Earlier Hajara Wanka, who previously served as the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, requested the First Lady’s support in coordinating political mobilization efforts within the constituency.

On thier part, delegates Dr. Lydia Shehu and Hajiya Hauwa Musa Fulani both expressed gratitude for past leadership opportunities given to women in the state and offered prayers for political success across all elective seats in 2027.
