Bauchi Budget Ministry prioritizes poverty alleviation and job creation in 2027 fiscal estimate

Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling poverty by prioritizing small-scale industries, mining, tourism, and cooperative societies in its upcoming 2027 budget proposal.

The State Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, and Multilateral Coordination, Hajiya Amina Muhammad Katagum, disclosed this during the 2027 Budget Public Consultation for the Bauchi South Senatorial District, held at the Command Guest Inn in Bauchi.

According to her, the prospective budget will place a heavy focus on youth and women empowerment, job creation, and grassroots development.

She noted that, public consultations are vital to fostering a sense of ownership and ensuring the sustainability of state-funded projects.

Hajiya Amina Katagum described budget preparation as a strategic mechanism to translate government policies into concrete interventions that improve living standards.

While emphasizing the importance of civic engagement, the Commissioner urged attendees to complete and submit the Community Charter of Demand (CCD) forms through their respective Local Government Areas to ensure all community priorities are reviewed.

During the feedback session, local stakeholders advocated for people-oriented projects, while representatives of persons with special needs called on the state government to address their specific challenges to promote inclusive economic growth.
