APM wins all 20 Chairmanship seats in Bauchi Local Government Elections.

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has won all 20 chairmanship seats contested in Bauchi State local government elections.

The results were announced by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) following the conclusion of voting, counting, collation and verification of results across the state.

Declaring the results, the BASIEC Chairperson, Hajiya Jummai S. Abubakar, said all 20 APM candidates emerged victorious in their respective local government areas.

She said the commission had confirmed the candidates as duly elected, having satisfied the applicable legal requirements and secured the highest number of valid votes in their respective constituencies.

The BASIEC chairperson commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his support to the commission, stressing that the elections were conducted independently and in accordance with the law.

She also congratulated the people of Bauchi State and the successful candidates on the conclusion of the local government elections.

The declared chairmanship winners are Bappah Aliyu Mohammed for Alkaleri; Umar Mohammed Aliyu for Bauchi; Zakka Luka Magaji for Bogoro; Iliya Isah for Dambam; Ya’u Samaila Sade for Darazo; and Mohammed Abubakar Jibo for Dass.

Others are Ali Babayo for Gamawa; Mohammed Idris M. for Ganjuwa; Mustapha Alhaji Musa for Giade; Dankawuwa Ya’u for Itas/Gadau; Inuwa Abdullahi for Jama’are; Yusuf Babayo Zaki for Katagum; Garba Musa for Kirfi; Salisu Hussaini for Misau; and Yahuza Adamu Haruna for Ningi.

In Shira Local Government Area, former Majority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Saleh Hodi Jibir, was declared winner, while Sama’ila Wakili Lere emerged victorious in Tafawa Balewa.

Abubakar Ibrahim Dembo won in Toro, Habibu Idris Usman emerged winner in Warji, while Mas’ud Aliyu secured victory in Zaki Local Government Area.

On the councillorship elections, BASIEC said the APM won 319 of the 323 ward seats contested across the state while the remaining four seats were shared among four political parties.

According to the Commission, The Social Democratic Party (SDP) won Dandango Ward in Bauchi Local Government Area; the National Rescue Movement (NRM) won Darazo South Ward in Darazo; the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) secured Wandi Ward in Dass; while the Young Progressive Party (YPP) won Zirami Ward in Giade.
