Member Representing Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency Launches Skills Acquisition Programme for 35 Youths

The Member representing Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bappa Aliyu Misau, has launched a skills acquisition training programme for 35 youths from Akuyam Ward in Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State as part of efforts to promote youth empowerment and economic self-reliance.

Speaking during the ceremony, Misau said the initiative was designed to equip young people with vocational skills that would enable them to become self-employed and contribute meaningfully to society.

He noted that the programme forms part of his commitment to reducing unemployment and discouraging youths from engaging in social vices such as drug abuse, theft and other criminal activities.

According to the lawmaker, beneficiaries were selected through a careful screening process and will undergo training in various vocational trades.

He added that participants would receive training allowances throughout the programme and start-up capital upon completion to help them establish businesses in their chosen fields.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Misau Local Government Area, Salisu Hussain Hardawa, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Garba Muhammad D.O., commended Bappah Aliyu Misau for initiating the programmes aimed at empowering youths and improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the constituency.

In his welcome address, the Councillor representing Akuyam Ward, Garba Babayo, lauded the Federal lawmaker for his continued support for community development and his dedication to improving the lives of young people in the area.

The skills acquisition programme is expected to enhance entrepreneurship among participants and create sustainable sources of livelihood for the beneficiaries.
