Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed who is deeply touched by the recent spike in banditry and kidnapping in parts of Alkaleri Local Government Area, has donated over seventy million naira to families who lost their loved ones in the attacks.
Governor Mohammed who visited his hometown, Duguri, where he met with stakeholders and grieving residents from Duguri and Gwana districts, expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the affected communities.
He commended the efforts of security agencies, local vigilantes, and community members for their resilience in confronting criminal activities.
The governor added that he had reached out to the Federal Government through the Office of the National Security Adviser, which pledged support in strengthening security operations across Bauchi State.
To ensure transparency in the disbursement of the donated funds,Governor Mohammed announced the formation of a committee chaired by the Executive Chairman of Alkaleri LGA, along with other individuals of proven integrity.
He, however, decried the actions of informants aiding criminals, urging traditional leaders to identify and expose such elements within their communities.
As part of efforts to strengthen local security, governor Mohammed announced the recruitment of 2,100 vigilantes to support conventional security forces in tackling crime across the state.
Also Speaking, , representatives of the Bauchi State Police Command, Bauchi State Hunters, and traditional commended Governor Bala’s support for security and pledged continued collaboration with his administration.
