Federal Government inaugurates construction of N6b Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy

The Minister for State, Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Heinekan Lokpobiri weekend said the establishment of the Oil and Gas Academy in Bauchi State is a significant as the institution will provide the manpower required to service the oil and gas industry in the country.
Speaking at the official ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the permanent site of the Oil and Gas Academy in Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi state, the minister called on the youth that will be trained at the academy to take advantage of the opportunities to be trained in order be employed globally.
He noted that the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is renewing its commitment to exploration of the Kolmani basin and therefore will support Bauchi State to develop its oil and gas exploration.
According to him, the oil and gas will remain the most dominant source of energy globally for the foreseeable future, adding that while others are thinking of not investing in oil and gas capacity building, the governor of Bauchi is thinking way ahead, and investing in the Bauchi Oil and gas academy.
On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed said the construction of the permanent site of Bauchi Oil and Gas academy Alkaleri marks a significant milestone in his administration’s quest to develop vocational education and enhance women and youth empowerment in oil and gas sector.
He assured that Bauchi state government is ready to partner with the federal government towards bringing development in the down stream sector.
