An Islamic cleric in the state has called on Muslims to uphold moral values and live righteous lives to earn Allah’s pleasure and gain respect in society.
Dr Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris made the call during his weekly Tafsir of the Holy Qur’an at Masjidus-Sahaba Mosque in New GRA, Bauchi.
He stressed that avoiding lies and embracing truthfulness would earn individuals honour and respect both in the sight of Allah and among fellow human beings.
The cleric also urged Muslims to worship Allah alone without associating any partners with Him, warning against the grave consequences of shirk, which refers to associating partners with Allah in worship.
He emphasised that Muslims must shun all forms of shirk, explaining that anyone who dies without repenting from the sin will not receive Allah’s forgiveness.
Dr Imam Abdurrahman further stated that the most honoured people in the sight of Allah are those who possess the greatest piety and consciousness of Him.
He, therefore, urged Muslims to remain steadfast in worshipping Allah alone, noting that He is the Creator of all things and the only One worthy of worship.
