Bogoro LG distributes 84,050 Insecticide Treated Nets to households.

The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area, Pastor Zakka Luka Magaji, has commended Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for supporting efforts to reduce malaria through the distribution of 84,050 Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs) to households in the local government area.
The Chairman gave the commendation during the official flag-off ceremony of the 2026 Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Net Distribution Campaign held at the Primary Health Care Centre, Bogoro.
Pastor Zakka Magaji expressed appreciation to the Bauchi State Government, Federal Ministry of Health, USAID, Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) and other development partners for supporting the initiative aimed at reducing malaria transmission and protecting vulnerable groups, particularly children and pregnant women.
He urged residents to use the nets properly and consistently, stressing that active community participation is essential to achieving the objectives of the campaign.
In his welcome address, the Director of Primary Health Care Department in Bogoro, Mr. Godwill Hakuri Gidado, commended the Chairman for his continued support and partnership in implementing health programmes across the local government.
Mr. Gidado Goodwill advised beneficiaries to air the nets under shade for 24 hours before use and ensure that every eligible household makes proper use of them to protect family members from mosquito bites.
Also speaking, the Local Government Coordinator of the Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Net Campaign, Alhaji Ridwan Umar, cautioned residents against misusing the nets and urged eligible households to collect them from designated ward distribution centres using their LLIN net cards.
He disclosed that 84,050 insecticide-treated nets had been allocated to Bogoro Local Government Area for distribution to eligible households across its communities.
In a vote of thanks, the District Head of Bogoro, Mr. Nuhu Tafida, commended Governor Bala Mohammed and the Chairman for their efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the area.
He cautioned residents against using the nets for fishing, vegetable farming or other inappropriate purposes, stressing that they are primarily intended for sleeping under to prevent malaria.
The District Head also urged community members to support government policies and programmes aimed at improving public health and promoting sustainable development in Bogoro Local Government Area.
