The creation of new emirates and districts in Bauchi state has been described as a rstep in the right direction.
A renowned educationist and the Education Secretary Ningi Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim J. Ibrahim, gave the pass mark during an interview with our reporter.
Alhaji Ibrahim J. Ibrahim described the decision by the Bauchi state Government to create additional Emirates as well-thought-out, patriotic and forward -looking act capable of bringing rapid development and ensuring harmonious coexistence among diverse tribes and religions in the state.
The Education Secretary expressed optimism that the creation of the new Emirates was not done to humiliate anybody or give undue advantage to some tribes over the others but was meant to ensure accelerated development of the state.
Ibrahim J Ibrahim, also congratulated the new Emir of Duguri emirate Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, on his well-deserved appointment as the first class emir, considering his track-record and achievements in serving humanity and also the new Emir of Bununu Barrister JD Hassan.
He called on all those who feel aggrieved to take the decision in good faith as a divine providence that could further bring governance closer to the people.
The Education Secretary Ningi Local Government recalled that the six Emirates in Bauchi state had been in existence since 1976, stressing that even Gombe state that was carved out of Bauchi state in 1996 now has eleven Emirates the status that put it ahead of Bauchi state, and further remarked that the creation of the new Emirates is long over due.
On the cry of marginalisation by some tribes, Alhaji Ibrahim J. Ibrahim, said it would be very difficult to please everyone in whatever you do as a leader.
The Education Secretary recalled with nostalgia how the education system was left under the monitoring of traditional leaders in the yesteryears because they were the ones who took decisions about recruitment and posting of teachers owing to their proximity to the people.
Alhaji Ibrahim J. Ibrahim commended the Governor of Bauchi state, senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for his foresight and resilience in selecting illustrious sons of Bauchi state with impeccable records of achievements in different fields of human endeavours to lead the newly additional Emirates and urged them to be just and fair to all the people in their leadership.
Alhaji Ibrahim J. Ibrahim prayed Almighty Allah to protect, preserve and promote the traditional institution in Bauchi state and help them in whatever they do.
