Bauchi Commissioner for Information and Communication reaffirms state Govt commitment to absorb casual staff working at the state owned media stations into the payroll.

Bauchi state Commissioner for Information and Communication Comrade Usman Garba Danturaki has reaffirmed the position of state government to employ casual staff working in the state owned media organizations BRC and BATV considering their contributions.

The state Commissioner stated this while presenting his Ministry’s scorecards at a ministerial press briefing held at the Abubakar Umar Secretariat auditorium complex Bauchi.

Comrade Danturaki said Bauchi State Ministry for Information and Communication was established in the year nineteen seventy six aimed to inform the general public about government policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of people as well as provide feedback to the government.

He said his Ministry being the image maker of the government, is saddled with responsibility of projecting policies and programmes through a well-coordinated and careful dissemination system.

He said his Ministry being the image maker of the Government, is saddled with responsibility of projecting policies and programmes through a well-coordinated and careful dissemination system.

Danturaki revealed that, the ministerial briefing was neglected for about ten years ago, and the ministry deemed it necessary to reintroduced it, aimed at improving service delivery in the state.

He enumerated some achievements recorded by the ministry under Governor Bala to include; the approval for the re-introduction of the ministerial briefing by the state Governor, creation of additional Directorates in the Ministry to revive and reinvigorate service delivery, installation of solar powered Energy as an alternative source of power by the Bureau for information and Communication, upgrading of transmission system at their Bauchi Radio Corporation, the renovation of BATV, special intervention and training of Nigerian Woman of Journalists at Professor Iya Abubakar training center (American Space) as well as the return of the Bureau for Information and Communication technology BICT back to the Ministry among many others.

Comrade Usman appreciated the effort of journalists who work tirelessly to give adequate publicity during the ministerial briefing in the state.

The Commissioner therefore commended Governor Bala Muhammad for his numerous interventions to salvage the information ministry as well as implementing policies and programmes in line with the core mandate of his administration.

Personalities that witnessed the briefing include, The permanent Secretary in the Ministry Dr Sule Madara, a retired permanent Secretary who is also a Chairman Bauchi Broadcasting Corporation Alhaji Inuwa Muhammad Bello, a one time BRC MD Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Khanna, Alhaji Umar Shira who represented the Managing Director Bauchi Radio Corporation Alhaji Chindo Waziri, Former MD BATV, Director News and current affairs Directorate Abdulhadi Musa Kobi, Director Commercial and Director Community radios among others.
