Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation Elected BON Zonal Chairman

The Managing Director of the Bauchi Radio Corporation BRC, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Shira, has been elected as Zonal Chairman, Zone B of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria BON.

Alhaji Umar Shira was elected unopposed recently according to the Executive Secretary, Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria BON, Yemisi Bamgbose. 

Umar Mohammed Shira is a Nigerian media professional from Bauchi State who is best known for serving as the Managing Director of the Bauchi Radio Corporation BRC.

According to official announcements and news reports, he was appointed Managing Director of the Bauchi Radio Corporation by Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed in March 2025.

The state government described him as an experienced media professional with a strong background in broadcasting and media management, expressing confidence that he would improve the corporation’s professionalism and public service.

Since his appointment, he has reaffirmed BRC’s commitment to upholding the Nigerian Broadcasting Code and promoting ethical, balanced broadcasting.
