Bauchi Govt Sponsors Orphan’s Wedding to Promote Independent Living

Bauchi State Government has sponsored the weeding of an orphan under the care of Bauchi State Orphanage Home, as part of efforts to support orphans and vulnerable children towards stable and independent lives.

The wedding was organized through the State Social Welfare Agency in collaboration with Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency BASOVCA held at the Orphanage Home in State Low-Cost Bauchi

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Welfare BASOVCA, Alhaji Babangida Maigari, said the decision followed consultations and assessment of the orphans needs.

He said government provided furniture, essential household items and other support to the couple, adding that officials would continue to monitor their welfare.

On his part, the Director Administration and Human Resources BASOVCA, Malam Kasim Muhammad Shall, commended Bauchi State Government under Bala Muhammad for supporting initiatives aimed at improving lives of orphans.

He acknowledged the contributions of BASOVCA Chairperson, Hajiya Yalwa Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, towards ensuring orphans and vulnerable children receive proper care, protection and appropriate assistance.

Also during the reception, Malama Khadija Adam advised the bride to uphold Islamic values, respect her husband, protect family matters and avoid unnecessary arguments.

She urged the couple to resolve disagreements peacefully, pray together, support one another during difficult times and respect their families.

Speaking during the occasion, the Groom, Dalhatu Muhammad Manzo, thanked Bauchi State Government, BASOVCA and everyone that contributed to success of the wedding, saying the support eased their financial worries of starting a new family.
