Bogoro Chairman’s Wife applauds Foundation for empowerment programme in the area.

The wife of the Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area, Mrs Uchenna Zakka Luka has commended the Gungdi Community Support Foundation for its empowerment programme targeting women, girls and persons with special needs.

She made the commendation during the enrollment of selected beneficiaries and caregivers at the Bogoro Local Government Council Chamber.

Mrs Uchenna Zakka said the programme would promote inclusion, self reliance and economic empowerment among vulnerable members of the community.

She disclosed that women and girls enrolled in the programme would receive training in tailoring, catering and detergent production.

She also said the training centres would be closely monitored to ensure that the objectives of the programme are achieved.

Mrs Uchenna Zakka further highlighted the ongoing construction of a Skills Acquisition Centre for Persons with Disabilities at the Local Government Secretariat, describing it as an important step towards promoting skills development and economic inclusion.

Earlier, the Founder of the Gungdi Community Support Foundation and Senior Special Assistant to the Bogoro Chairman on People with Special Needs, Princess Gungdi Markus, said the initiative was aimed at creating opportunities for vulnerable people to develop their skills and become self-reliant.

She said the programme was sponsored by the Chairman’s wife in collaboration with the foundation, and pledged to continue supporting women, youths and persons with special needs in the Local Government Area.

Representing the Local Government Chairman, Ayuba Kyauta Elisha, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities for all residents, irrespective of their differences.

He said the programme would help beneficiaries acquire practical skills, improve their livelihoods and contribute to the socio-economic development of Bogoro Local Government Area.
