Bauchi HoS urges Civil Servants to take sensitisation workshop seriously ahead of promotion exams

Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, Barrister Muhammad Sani Umar, has urged civil servants participating in the 2026 Civil Service Promotion Examination to take full advantage of a one-day sensitisation workshop organised to prepare them for the examination.
Barrister Sani Umar made the call during the sensitisation workshop held at the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall in Bauchi and organised by the Office of the Head of Civil Service in collaboration with Dugge Management Services Limited.
He said the programme was designed to equip prospective candidates with the requisite knowledge, experience and skills ahead of the promotion examination scheduled for October 10, 2026.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment Office of the Head of Civil Service, Barrister Dawud Mahmud, the Head of Service said the annual sensitisation programme would build on previous successes and further improve the performance of civil servants.
He disclosed that the Office of the Head of Civil Service had recorded significant progress, with its performance level improving from 75 to 85 percent.
Barrister Dawud Mahmud encouraged participants to actively engage in the workshop and apply the knowledge acquired to their daily responsibilities, stressing that improved productivity among civil servants would contribute to the growth and development of Bauchi State.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission, Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, emphasised the importance of discipline and strict adherence to public service rules and regulations among civil servants.
He said the Commission would not hesitate to take appropriate disciplinary measures against any government employee found violating the rules of the public service.
The Chairman also disclosed that the Commission had cleared outstanding backlogs relating to civil service promotions, assuring workers that efforts would continue to ensure that their legitimate entitlements were addressed.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Dugge Management Services Limited, Alhaji Gambo Magaji, gave an overview of the sensitisation programme and urged participants to regard the consultants as partners who would guide them throughout the workshop.
He noted that Bauchi State’s civil service had evolved significantly since its creation in 1976, recording various achievements over the years.
Alhaji Gambo Magaji therefore called on government employees to be proactive and committed to their official responsibilities in order to achieve the objectives of the state government.
Also speaking, the Director of Examinations, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Maigari Umar Hamza, advised participants to obtain and fulfil all necessary requirements for the promotion examination.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for sustaining the sensitisation programme aimed at improving the capacity and performance of civil servants in the state.
